Listen: Creators of 'The Power of the Dream' web series, Alexandra Keddie and Bobbie Jean-Henning talk with Laura Bennett about their Games-inspired project
Enter The Power of the Dream leads, Amy and Brooke.
The two “cousin-best-friends” have unrelenting, shameless confidence in each other’s abilities and decide, in March 2020, they’ll train for a week to go to Tokyo. The event they’ll compete in can be worked on along the way – but it doesn’t really matter anyway, they’ll have a crack at a bunch and see what one “feels like gold”.

Reminiscent of Australian classics like Kath & Kim or Upper Middle Bogan, The Power of the Dream web series is the brainchild of Alexandra Keddie (yes, cousin of Logie-winner Asher Keddie) and her best friend and fellow actor Bobbie Jean-Henning.
The idea for the project started “when I wanted to do an adult gymnastics class a couple of years ago”, Alexandra told Hope 103.2.
“Bobbie is very supportive, but very honest, as a best friend and just said to me, ‘Oh Alex, I don’t know if that’s a great idea – you’ve got pretty flimsy ankles, this could turn out badly for you’, and I said, ‘No, I was great in grade five, 20 years ago, this’ll be great’.
“Bobbie joked she’d ‘support me going to the Games then’, and it evolved from there. We’d been looking for something to work on together for a long time, and this then felt like a really fun idea to collaborate on.”

Running roughly seven minutes an episode, the series is super binge-able, and while it does offer laughs about two overconfident “athletically-challenged” women, Alexandra and Bobbie hope it will also inspire.

“This is a really positive, heartwarming and lighthearted [series]”, they said.
“We hope viewers will have a few laughs and feel like, ‘Oh, maybe I could give something a go’ as well.
“It’s such a celebration of [Brooke and Amy’s] friendship and belief in yourself and belief in others.”
