What Are You in the Mood For?

Recommendations from the Hope 103.2 Team

? Read

“Confession time, I’m a huge fan of leadership and personal development books. I love them and one I recently finished which is really good is Originals by Adam Grant. I often feel like the black sheep and don’t really fit into a box, this book was excellent. It is all about non-conformists thriving in their workplace — a really good read. If you are looking for some bonus reads, Seth Godin’s This is Marketing is actually much more about communication and how to do that effectively,” -Duncan from Breakfast with Sam & Duncan

? Watch

Parks & Recreation on Stan. If you liked The Office, it’s the same mockumentary-style of TV but more feel good. Leslie Knope is a likeable and inspiring lead, and all of the supporting characters are well developed.  I don’t usually laugh out loud, but it’s impossible not to with this show. Ron Swanson is the greatest television character ever (closely followed by Michael Scott and Phil Dunphy). But a word of warning: start at Season 2. Season 1 was rubbish. You haven’t missed anything essential if you jump ahead,” -Ally, producer of Breakfast with Sam & Duncan

“Malcolm Gladwell’s audiobook Talking to Strangers is really intense, but excellent when it comes to misreading people based on stereotypical reactions,” -Duncan from Breakfast with Sam & Duncan

Working from Home

On Breakfast with Sam & Duncan, the team saw a thread on a Facebook group: “For everyone trying to work from home with kids right now: Tell us something your kids are doing, but call them your coworkers.”

A clever mother on Facebook shared this #lifehack

“I’m working from home for the next 3 weeks. I have ONE child. Y’all mommas with one child know how bored they can get ? During my working hours the store is open. He can buy TV time, Xbox time and game time. Obviously next week we’ll start a home curriculum in place of school and this will change up a little!”
