Sam’s Poem to Tree Shade
March has strode on in and seasons are a-changing
Just a few weeks left to enjoy daylight saving
But before the afternoons reach a new peak of dark
It’s good to while them away, hanging at the park
Yes, arvos spent in the park are really quite a treat
Especially if you can nab yourself a table or a seat
To sit and watch the kids go up and down the slide
And tantrum if the swing they want is preoccupied.
For when Autumn kicks in, you’re less abundant
And as temperatures cool, you’re made redundant
And how you’ve guarded my skin like a sunburn blockade
So I thank you, helpful cover of protective tree shade
