And, now, an ode to a wardrobe highlight… the faithful yet, sometimes, mysterious sock.

Sam’s Poem to Socks

This week an ode to a wardrobe highlight
Kept safe in a drawer, and usually bright
But one must review and bin them, with no sign of remorse
If they develop more holes than an 18 hole golf course

They say compare the pair, but that would be picky
In fact picking the right pair is the part that’s tricky
But once worn, certainly avoid wet weather
And make sure that two are washed together

For what else will warm when mornings are cold?
Or soak up my sweat until I am old?
A cotton forcefield, as important as jocks
So thank you, pair of fresh clean socks.
