Hope Afternoons host Laura Bennett will be stepping into our Drive show next Monday, after its host of 15 years Ray Kington hung up his headphones in May for a new adventure.
Laura has been with Hope 103.2 for nearly 12 years now, initially as a volunteer, after joining then Breakfast hosts Aaron and Dan as “The Apprentice” for Black Stump Music Festival.
In the years since, Laura has hosted our Nights program, Breakfast and Afternoons shows, along with being a regular digital contributor on our website, particularly in the areas of entertainment and culture.
Throughout her years at Hope 103.2, Laura has had an unchanging desire to connect listeners with people and stories that bring meaning to their lives, and help them live the life God intended for them, which inspired her to launch the UNDISTRACTED podcast.
“Every single one of us are full of so much potential,” Laura said.
“And I genuinely believe God wants all of us to fulfill it, as we intentionally seek Him and discover His plans for us. Sadly though, so many of the voices in our world distract us from that.
“When I first came to Hope, I wanted to be part of a place where we cover news of the day in an excellent way, but didn’t forget the important stuff: knowing God, becoming more Christ-like and ultimately becoming who He’s called us to be.”
Hope 103.2 content director Aaron Wright said Laura was the perfect fit to step into Drive, as an already familiar voice throughout Hopeland.
“As a successful author, podcaster, reviewer, interviewer and radio show host, we can’t wait to hear the joy and love for life Laura will bring to the radio during 3pm to 7pm weekdays, starting Monday,” Aaron said.

On the Drive show Laura will invite listeners to have a chat, cover the days’ events and bring you a variety of guest interviews that entertain and uplift.
“The Drive show, for me, is a place where we process the day, take a load off and catch up with each other,” Laura said.
“It’s a place where we all unwind while checking in with what’s happening in our community, and take a moment to consider the role we play in it.”
