As the sun goes down on the formal education of the Year 12 Class of 2020, Breakfast with Sam & Duncan wanted to send you a champion’s address so listen up!

Year 12 Class of 2020 – A Champion’s Address

It has been a year unlike any other year. One filled with challenges and more twists and turns that we could never have possibly imagined. It was not the worst year ever, but it was far from the best.

Kind of like rum and raisin ice-cream. It’s bad but it’s still ice-cream.

This was not the Year 12 that any of us were hoping for you. We know the significance and importance of this moment, and, on behalf of 2020, we are sorry that this is what you have.

But here’s the silver lining. You have learnt the art of adaptation. You have discovered the joy of change. These skills, young leaders of tomorrow, will serve you well.

It’s like the part in the movie where everything sucks, and it’s all going horrible – right before an epic montage.

Through uncertainty, distraction and upheaval, you have navigated a monumental year and you have made it. Well done. Life delivered you a truckload of lemons and you have willingly squeezed some quality lemonade.

Hope 103.2 is proudly supported by

… but like lemonade with tepid water… that someone has sneezed in.

You will be the first class of graduates who are OK with the unknown – you’ve lived it. You will be the first class of graduates who are skilled in the art of versatility – you wrote the book. Exams are coming and you are now more skilled at home learning then any class before you.

Life often doesn’t deal you the hand you want. You play with the hand you get, and you’ve played it wonderfully.

It’s as if you were playing cards and someone dealt you a live scorpion. You didn’t want it but now you have to play cards with a live scorpion, regardless.

Well done team. We are praying for you during this exam season. It won’t be normal, but we trust you already knew that.

Know you are probably better prepared for the worst of life as a result of 2020. Go get ’em tiger!
