You just don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone… this week, in ‘Sam’s Poem to’ he celebrates the humble buffet and remembers the glorious days of all-you-can-eat.
Sam’s Poem to the Buffet
You just don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone
Teenage dreams from a docket coupon
A smorgasbord of sugar and spice
Pizza galore for an affordable price
You gave us options – salad dessert or roast
Opportunity for kids to mix something gross
But after countless slices of cheesy toast
You’ve finally given up the ghost
Here we gather to mourn you today
It’s a shame that you just could not stay
But COVID sent you on your way,
So farewell, all-you-can-eat buffet.
