If you’ve felt the bite of the cold this winter, then spare a thought for those in our city who are currently homeless.

Coloured Blankets

Helping the homeless: Donate new blankets to the Hope 103.2 / Parramatta Mission Blanket Appeal.

Every day, 105,000 Australians find themselves without a home and sleep on someone’s couch, in a car, or out in the open.

As part of Homeless Persons week (August 1 to 7), Hope 103.2 is holding a blanket drive for Parramatta Missioncollecting new blankets and pillows for those doing it tough.

Parramatta Mission has been providing services to people who are homeless, facing crisis or living with mental illness, for over 40 years.

To bring some love and hope to those in need, simply buy a blanket or two, or a pillow, on your next shopping trip and drop them off at the Hope 103.2 studios – at 2 Leabons Lane, Seven Hills, during weekday business hours (9am – 5pm) from July 27 to August 7.

The Hope street team will also be stationed at churches across Sydney, making it more convenient for listeners to be part of the Blanket Drive.

(If you don’t have time to drop off a blanket but wish to support the work of Parramatta Mission, please donate online.)

Claustrophobic Dan Breaking The Blanket Pile World Record

Hope 103.2 Breakfast announcer Dan Widdowson

Looking worried: Dan Widdowson will attempt the world record for the most blankets piled on one person.

At the end of the collection on August 7, our Breakfast Team will attempt to break a record for the most blankets piled on a person.

The current world record, according to recordsetter.com is 42 blankets, set by Katya Maiser, her husband and her teenage son on January, 2015.

So if you want to see a claustrophobic Daniel Widdowson try to host the breakfast show from underneath a pile of blankets, please get on board and donate what you can.
