When it comes to global poverty, it can feel at times like we’re fighting a losing battle. Countless organisations across the world are committed to changing the lot of the poor, yet still in many nations, poverty prevails.

But it doesn’t have to be that way, according to Dr Jayakumar Christian. He’s the national director of World Vision in India, he’s the author of a book called God of the Empty Handed, and he’s been working for more than 30 years to change the lives of the poor in his home nation of India. So he’s well qualified to speak on the topic.
