In a civil society do I have the right to insult you and should you have the right to seek remedy from a tribunal or a court? There’s a lot of air time given to that issue and no wonder. Mark Sneddon is a barrister, and he’s worked as a senior legal advisor to both labour and conservative governments in Victoria. His conviction is we need to be careful not to lose the old notion of checks and balances, and he’s set up a new think tank called The Institute For Civil Society.
