Summer school holidays are filled with possibilities for endless fun – for about three days.
By the end of January, you’ll likely see exhausted parents, looking for ways to keep the kiddos occupied for longer than 10 minutes. And, often, technology is perfect for that. But it’s so important that kids use technology safely.
Geoff Quattromani from the Technology Uncorked podcast joined Hope Drive to discuss how parents can best keep their kids safe on tech these holidays.
Geoff’s top tips for parents
- Introduce technology gradually to your kids.
- Parental controls are your best friend!
- Set your kids up with their own Apple or Android account so you can manage the controls.
- Speak openly with your children about what parental controls will be implemented and why – to take away the element of surprise.
If kids received technology for Christmas, the eSafety Commissioner website has an online guide with safety tips about various products such as tablets, phones, VR headsets and drones.
