Ally Barnes, beloved producer of Hope Breakfast has been very busy while on maternity leave. In August 2020, Ally and her husband Sean welcomed their second son Zach into the world. And, in recent months, she has been spending her evenings producing the second season of her podcast Mums’ Group.
After a strong first season discussing experiences and approaches to new motherhood with other Christian mothers, Ally has now turned to the somewhat daunting toddler years.
“The second season is much more selfishly-motivated, because I want to glean wisdom from other mums… that’s the trench I’m currently in,” Ally told Hope 103.2.
“We’re having conversations about how to foster strong sibling relationships, how to deal with those meltdowns that kids with big feelings have, toilet training… all the things that happen for a kid in those next couple of years, and how our faith interplays with those things.”
If you’re a new mum or know others who are, and perhaps are feeling a little isolated, Mums’ Group is a great way to feel connected. Hear more about the podcast in the player above or listen to full episodes on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
