For every three babies that are born, there is one that doesn’t make it.  Although it’s a common experience, a miscarriage can be a lonely and isolating time for a woman.  It’s also different for every woman.  

That’s why a new book on miscarriage shares the experiences of 22 women.  For some it’s an intense experience, characterised by grief and loss, others bounce back with another pregnancy soon after.  

For midwife and author Tracey Slater, each of her four miscarriages was followed by a time of sadness, then unbelievable joy when she later acheived a successful pregnancy.
