When Cecily Paterson asked God to help her to learn to love more she had no idea that her biggest test of love was just around the corner – learning how to parent a disabled child. Through every challenge she has faced as a parent, she has been aware that God’s purpose for her was to teach her to love others as God does.
Just after her son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cecily started to keep a blog. She also scoured bookshops and libraries for information on autism, but found all the books on autism were either too technical, overly depressing or unrealistically cheerful. So Cecily was inspired to write a a book based on her own experiences.
Love Tears & Autism is a memoir of what its like to parent a child with autism and a record of everything she’s learned along the way. Most of all, Cecily hopes her book will help other parents in her situation realise that they are not alone.
