If you’ve ever sat down and watched a movie with a five year old, you’ll know that young children react very differently to adults when watching films. Scenes which may be funny to a ten year old, can be frightening to a three year old.

So how can you find movies that are age appropriate for your child? The Australian Council on Children and the Media offers a movie review service specifically for kids!

Know Before You Go offers expert analyses of levels of violence, scary concepts, language and messages by child development professionals so parents can make informed decisions about what to let their kids watch.

Listen Now – Elizabeth Handsley is the Vice President of the Australian Council on Children and Media and she talked to Katrina Roe about how children view films.
