You don’t have to be a parent to realise that food allergies among children are a growing concern for the community. The traditional wisdom has been to delay the introduction of foods like eggs and nuts to reduce the chance of babies developing food allergies.

But new research is throwing that advice into question.  Researchers from the University of Melbourne have found that feeding cooked eggs to infants before the age of 4 – 6 months actually reduces their chance of developing an allergy to eggs.
