For decades to come the results of the 2017 Marriage Survey will be studied by demographers, statisticians and political scientists alike. The survey recorded a 61/39 percent vote in favour of same sex marriage.

What do the results tell us, if anything, about the vote of people of religious faith?

The Australian Bureau of Statistics, which conducted the survey for the Government, did not collect demographic breakdowns by religion. However some conclusions may be drawn by comparing he electorate-by-electorate results of the recent census with the marriage survey.
