Listen: Hope 103.2 listener Samantha Archer shares the joy of giving blood alongside her daughter
More than 100 lives have been saved thanks to blood donations from Team Hopeland, and Hope 103.2 listener Samantha made her’s a family affair.
Lockdown has affected us all in different ways. For Samantha Archer and her husband – both teachers – like many parents in Greater Sydney and around Australia, they have been doing their best to navigate teaching online as well as assisting their five kids with their own online learning.
So, when Samantha heard of the Team Hopeland lifeblood drive, she and her husband decided to get the family excited to donate together. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, Samantha’s husband couldn’t donate this time, but she and her daughter made an outing one evening to give blood together.
Samantha and her daughter made an outing one evening to give blood together.
“It couldn’t have been nicer, actually,” Samantha told Hope Breakfast.
“Back when I was at uni we were on camp stretchers, but this time we were on a luxurious lounge and everyone was friendly. It was a great place to be.
“It was a really nice evening with my daughter!”
Samantha also mentioned that while her 16-year-old son cannot give blood yet, he is keen to do so on his 18th birthday, the day he becomes eligible.
It’s not too late to join Team Hopeland and give blood! You can join Samantha and her daughter and be part of Team Hopeland today.
