Considering a sea change?

For many people, there’s  nothing more enticing than the idea of leaving behind all the trappings of home, work and family and living simply at sea.

But what does it take to make a dream like that a reality?  And what’s it really like when you’re away from home for such a long time?

Nancy Knudsen and her husband, Ted Knobbs spent five years at sea on board The Blackwattle.  Together they crossed three oceans, visited 42 countries and enjoyed an extended stopover in Istanbul.  But when they returned they found they couldn’t go back to their Sydney lifestyle.

Here Nancy shares how her adventure changed her perspective on the world, the environment, politics, her values and her relationships.
