Matthew Carr was a 26 year old soldier when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Drawing on his training in the military, Carr decided to fight cancer with everything he had. He soon realised that his counter-insurgency training provided him with a framework for battling cancer. He needed to identify and understand the enemy, isolate the enemy, neutralise the enemy and negotiate, all while maintaining morale, spirit and a sense of humour.
Matthew Carr believes that the tactics he used to fight cancer can be applied to many of life’s battles and he shares his ideas in his book Battle Scars.
