First aid training is not compulsory in Australian schools but there is a large majority of Australians who believe it should be.

Young people are most often first responders in emergencies, but the least confident to administer first aid treatment, according to research from the Australian Red Cross.

This World First Aid Day, September 11, the Australian Red Cross is running free first aid training over Zoom – and TikTok – to encourage more young people to take up the skill.
