Recently five teenagers died in a car accident on the outskirts of Sydney.

The shock of this tragic crash at Buxton caused widespread grief and heartache, even if we had no personal connection to those involved.

Russell White from the Australian Road Safety Foundation spoke with Hope Mornings about a campaign of sad relevance in such an atmosphere of mourning and mortality.

September in Australia is Rural Road Safety Month. A dedicated period for shared focus upon driving carefully, especially outside city areas.

Russell said that two thirds of road fatalities occur in rural or regional areas.

He implored everyone – drivers and passengers – to be the change needed.
