The Power of Poo (To Save Animals!)

WWF Australia has launched My Backyard – an interactive tool for people to learn more about threatened species in their local areas.

Normally, poo chats are considered off limits (except, maybe, if you’re toilet training a toddler). But what if talking about poo could save our endangered Aussie animals?

Animal advocacy WWF Australia has joined forces with comedian Carlo Ritchie to create Scat Chat with WWF – a six-part podcast series which reveals the hidden secrets in scats (wild animal poo).

Additionally, WWF Australia has also launched My Backyard – an interactive tool for people to learn more about threatened species in their local areas. The tool includes information on the progress that has already been made to recover these species, as well as ways to reach out to local MPs and call for further action.

WWF Australia Chief Conservation Officer Rachel Lowry joined Hope Drive to chat about the two initiatives.

Listen to Rachel’s full interview on Hope Drive in the player above.

To find out more, search for Scat Chats with WWF wherever you get your podcasts and or visit the My Backyard web tool.
