To stay safe at the beach this year, Marine Rescue NSW’s and Sydney surfer Brad Whittaker said there is one thing you can do even before getting into the water that will really help.
“Get a little bit of local knowledge even before you jump in between those [red and yellow beach] flags,” Brad said.
As well as being the assistant director of training and education at Marine Rescue NSW, Brad has also been involved with Christian Surfers over the years, and had experience with council beach lifeguards in southern Sydney.
