“The first year of my Christian life, I would have given up three times if I had not had those older men [in my life],” Ross told Hope Mornings.
The retired Sydney-sider became a Christian at university when he was 18.

But that’s not all.

Ross says he “would have given up three times if I had not had those older men [in my life].”
Decades later and Ross remains passionate about mentoring younger men.
Indeed, “from day one”, Ross been disciplined about and dedicated to doing the same as was extended to him.

“Though Jesus preached to thousands of people, he actually gave the ‘Great Commission’ to only 11 people.”
“[And] I would think that if you have walked with Christ for a little while, you ought to be able to encourage other people.
“I don’t think I’m all that special.
“Different people will do it different ways.
“I don’t believe there is any one right style [of mentoring].
“To my mind, the only thing you need to do is to be walking with Christ.”
