A simple farming practice which has turned desert plains into reforested and productive farmland has been described as “probably the largest positive environmental transformation in the Sahel and perhaps in all of Africa,” by internationally acclaimed environmental specialist Chris Reij.
World Vision is helping poor communities across Africa transform their fields into productive healthy land thanks from the practice known as Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). From its beginnings in Niger in 1983, the original work of World Vision employee Tony Rinaudo is transforming a continent.
