Right now everyone is cancelling everyone.

Everyone thinks that they’re right and the other side is wrong.

But here’s the thing: If everyone is thinking this, we can’t all be right. One of us has to be wrong.

But what if we’re both wrong?

This is what Jesus says about cancel culture:

“Before you take the speck of dust out of the other person’s eye, please notice the plank of wood in your own eye first.” (Matthew 7:1-5)

In other words: Before you cancel the other side, look within to see what needs to be cancelled in you.

This is why Jesus had to die for us on a cross

Because God has every right to cancel us.

But Jesus chose to become “The Cancelled One” in our place so that we would never have to be cancelled by God.

When Jesus died on a cross, he died on the planks of wood that were in our eyes. (1 Peter 3:18)
