God’s Promises Still Require Our Participation

God’s promises are not isolated or independent from us, but actually very much intertwined with us and require our participation.

God’s promises are not isolated or independent from us, but actually very much intertwined with us.

I feel like so often I miss “my part” and try and focus on only what God can do… and, sometimes, even forget that I have a part to play at all!

Let me give you a few a visual examples.

matthew 11:28. his promise - you will find rest, our part - to come to him. james 5:16. his promise - you will be healed, our part - to confess to one another

matthew 6:14. his promise - you will be forgiven, our part - to forgive others. jeremiah 29:13. his promise - that he would be found, our part - to seek him wholeheartedly

malachi 3:10. his promise - you will be blessed. our part - to bring the tithe. isaiah 40:31. his promise - you will receive strength, our part - to wait on the lord

So, remember this faith journey is a joint venture and one that requires your participation as much as it does God’s.
