After making into the Top 4 of ‘Team Joel’ during The Voice last year, Aussie singer songwriter Michael Paynter is back in the limelight with his new album ‘Weary Stars’.
Recorded over 18 months in between shooting the show, touring with Icehouse, and running his own Production company, Paynter says ‘Weary Stars‘ is a great summation of his experiences:
“I think the album is quite a concise representative of things that have happened in my life and my career, and it’s nice to have them in 12-song format.”
Entering the Aussie industry over a decade ago when he was just 16 years of age, Michael’s career has already been flavoured by supporting on tour with Miley Cyrus, The Veronicas, Vanessa Amorosi, Newtown Faulker, and Seal, seeing him compared to greats like John Farnham and making into the Australian Top 20.
Previously signed to Sony, Paynter is now paving his own way after spliting with the label, telling all in the title track:
“I kind of wanted ot just sit down…and write a song about exaclty what was going on…and put in in a pop song, and I think we achieved that”.
