Glee star Lea Michele makes her official break into the music industry with her debut single ‘Cannonball’ from her upcoming project ‘Louder’.
Due for release in March, ‘Louder’ will see Michele take her proven vocal wit, and use it to tell her own story:
“What’s funny I was talking to my mom and she’s like ‘This is the opportunity for people to really get to see you, who you are in a personal way’. And I’m excited about that because I’ve played a character for so long, singing these cover songs, which has been so awesome, and now I’m kind if ready to let people know who Lea Michele really is.” (from pressparty.com)
It is a far cry from her role as Glee‘s eccentric female lead Rachel Berry, but after a year driven by media attention following the passing of her long-time partner Cory Montieth, ‘Cannonball’ is a personal and mature debut that allows fans to understand her grief, but also be inspired by her hope:
“…there’s an empowerment that comes with grief and at some point you find it. It can be hard but you will find it. And I think at a certain point [with grief] you can choose to fall from [it] or you can choose to rise.”
‘Cannonball’ is now playing on Hope 103.2, and also can be found via iTunes.
