You may not know their faces, but their music is recognised worldwide, even more so after recently winning 4 Grammy’s for ‘Random Access Memories’ including Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica album at this year’s ceremony.
8 years after their last release, the French duo launched the album in the small Australian town of Wee Waa in 2013, and while they didn’t attend themselves, (…I know right) the event was enough to attract thousands of fans, including a 37 year old digital-media expert from Texas.
Adding to a back catalogue that began in ‘97, ‘Random Access Memories’ is a perfectly timed project given the rise of dance music in the mainstream charts, seeing a whole new generation take up tunes once reserved for a ‘niche elite’.
So, bust out your helmet, your elbow-driven dance moves, and listen out for ‘Give Life Back to Music’ playing now on Hope 1032.
