The first single from their soon to be released full length project ‘It’s About Us’, ‘Scarecrow’ >is an upbeat folk/pop explosion, testing the waters of life post-Talent Show for the duo.
Cruising through consecutive weeks as viewers’ number one choice, covering a back-catalogue of hits from Beyonce to One Direction to Leona Lewis and Sara Barellies, Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton were always a favourite to win, but now their success will rely on original work:
“We’re so excited to have something of our own out there, we loved doing covers…but it’s a different type of satisfaction to put something out that people can appreciate (Access Hollywood).”
Hoping to solidify their career around the world, ‘Scarecrow’ showcases a tatse of what’s to come, and opens up fans to song Alex and Sierra believe they’ll connect to:
“…it’s [a song] about being in a relationship and there’s one person that doesn’t know how to communicate their feelings, but it’s a hopeful song. You believe in your relationship so much that’s it’s worth working through and figuring it out. And we wanted people to relate to it not just if they’re in a romantic relationship, but with [friends and family] as well.”
Listen out for ‘Scarecrow’ playing now on Hope 103.2, and keep an eye out for ‘It’s About Us’, dropping October 7.
