Baywatch: 60 Second Movie Review [video]

Baywatch is extremely coarse in language and content, full of shameless sexism towards women. The only spiritual thing to come out of Baywatch is a warning as to where we’re going for comic specials.

Get ready for a film remake of the classic 1990s show Baywatch. The plot is just as improbable as the original TV series though – a South American businesswoman is using a lucrative super-drug to corrupt city council and buy up property in the bay area. And only lifeguards will be able to stop her!

RATED: Baywatch is rated MA15+ for Strong Comedic Nudity and Coarse Language

AUDIENCE: I’m assuming 20-somethings plus nostalgic fans of Baywatch but, to be honest, this film is so bad I couldn’t recommend it to anyone.

WHAT’S GOOD: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is fun as always in his semi-serious way, and David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson make surprise appearances.

WHAT’S NOT: Pretty much everything. Baywatch is extremely coarse in language and content, full of shameless sexism towards women, and delves into male nudity in a way that is frankly extremely uncomfortable. For a comedy, it’s not even that funny.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING: The only spiritual thing to come out of Baywatch is a warning as to where we’re going for comic specials. Romans 1-2 talks about the slippery slope away from God that humanity is on, and the things that are embraced as ‘funny’ in this film would have been labelled disgusting less than a decade ago.

RELEASE DATE: Baywatch is now showing
