War For The Planet Of the Apes is the third film in the Planet Of The Apes reboot, and chimp leader Caesar and his tribe are on the run from what’s left of the American military. The humans are determined to wipe out these super-intelligent simians before they become the dominant species, and Caesar has to decide just how far he will go to preserve his people.

RATED: War For The Planet Of the Apes is rated M for violence and mature themes

AUDIENCE: Definitely young adults and up. If you loved episodes one and two, you’re in for a great night, with action plus spiritual insight as we peer into our furry future.

WHAT’S GOOD: The more this series progresses, the more you start to ask who the beasts really are?

WHAT’S NOT: There’s a lot of evolutionary chatter in War For The Planet Of the Apes that suggests the shape of the universe is determined by our mistakes or our ability to survive. God doesn’t rate a mention.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING: I particularly like the repeated references to the idea that sin is a result of the ‘darkness within’ and not our circumstances. It’s also clear that we will never escape that darkness if we can’t forgive and be forgiven.

RELEASE DATE: July 27
