He says he never feels so alive as when he’s in the pulpit and if you’ve heard him preach you’ll understand. T.D. Jakes first church had 10 members and met in a storefront.

Today his Potters House church in Dallas, Texas, sees over 30,000 attend its services each week, with 100,000’s more watching via television. He even preaches via satellite into American prisons.

Critics worry about his mansions and tailored suits, although they admit his ministry is financially squeaky clean. Jake’s church has been praised for its impressive service to the poor, the imprisoned, the drug addicted and abused. While some have questioned whether his beliefs put him at odds with historic Christianity.
