“It was certainly a skill I had to learn, you can decide for yourself whether you can dance or not,” Olympian Sally Pearson told Hope Breakfast.
Sally is one of Australia’s greatest Olympians and regarded as the nation’s most successful track athlete of all time. She joined Hope Breakfast duo Ally and Brendan to chat about Dancing with the Stars and her amazing sporting career – and she offered some advice on training for the City2Surf.
It was at Beijing 2008 when Sally made her Olympic debut in the 100m hurdles, creating history when she claimed silver behind USA’s Dawn Harper. Sally’s silver medal marked the first time in 40 years that an Australian won a medal in the hurdles. With such a successful career already, many have been very excited to hear Sally is back competing, but in a different environment on Channel 7’s Dancing with the Stars.
“It’s the love of my life: athletics. And I knew it would take me a few years to get over,” Sally said.
