Heidi Woods is a local Sydney author whose latest book Blue Skies and Butterflies is about exploring the idea of Heaven through the eyes of a child.
Prompted by a conversation with her kids on a rainy Friday afternoon, Blue Skies and Butterflies talks about the joy of eternal hope and discovering beauty and colour in all seasons of life.
“It’s a book about hope,” Heidi told Hope 103.2.

“The world needs hope, it’s so desperate for hope [but] finds that the very ephemeral hopes that they grasp onto will only ever be short term.”
Since “giving [her] heart to Jesus” at three years old, Heidi has had a passion to share the love of God through words, seeing them “as a currency” with a unique ability to translate big ideas into story.
“My mum led me to Jesus Christ [and] from that moment God’s etched something in my heart about His love, and sharing that love in a very artistic, expressive way,” Heidi said.

Understanding the reality of Heaven is something Heidi thinks gives us the enduring hope we need in today’s world.
“[Jesus] is real hope,” Heidi said.
“Heaven’s not a hope that I’m just looking forward to when I pass.
“I have hope in the midst of every breath of every day, whether it’s through pain or heartache or triumph.
“I have this incredible hope and this peace that is magnificent and beautiful and priceless.”
