Everyone knows what kind of two years we have had.
The pandemic remains and COVID concerns continue clouding our Christmas celebrations.
Steve Bartlett is Director of Ministries for Baptist Churches NSW/ACT and knows that Baptist church families, just like everyone else, are headed towards December 25 with weariness tinged with cautious excitement.
Steve spoke with Hope Afternoons about various Christmas events and interactions going on.
Most have the undercurrent of real connection with each other, anchored in the rich relationship with God afforded by knowing the Son he sent to Earth that first Christmas.
“I’m seeing a lot of grassroots and generosity,” Steve said about the run up to Christmas 2021 for Baptist churches.
“This has been a year where it has been hard to connect, so people are taking the opportunity to reach out into their communities while recognising people still are feeling the impact of the year.
“I’ve heard a lot about hampers being given through community connections and schools.”
