A blessing for your family
“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26

Learn this song to wake her up with
Make sure the kids really hit those high notes. ? But, you may want to provide breakfast in bed ?? if you go for this option — especially after you’ve sung ‘I wonder why her hair is grey?’. ?
Make mum breakfast in bed
It’s an oldie but a goodie — who doesn’t love being cooked for? This might be one for the older kids in the family but if you don’t already know her favourite breakfast then try one of these healthy-alternative recipes including a chocolate muffin for the extra sweet-tooth Hopeland mums out there.
Three Nutritious 5 Minute Breakfasts
Take mum on a (virtual) tour of a world-famous attraction — for free!
Maybe you don’t need to add that it cost you absolutely nothing to pull together this little surprise for mum, but how cool is it that so many places we could once only get to by jumping on a plane are now at our very fingertips, thanks to technology.
Organise a movie night for mum
You can’t take mum to Gold Class this year but you can bring a gold-class experience to her. Why not up your movie game and turn your lounge room into your own cinema — throw popcorn into a nice bowl instead of eating it out of the bag and make sure there’s plenty of snacks within reach (prepare a menu mum can choose from), spread out beanbags and pillows on the floor, create a special ticket for mum with the movie start time…? If you need ideas for a movie to screen, check our our Afternoons host and Hope 103.2 movie reviewer Laura Bennett’s suggestions.
Blast the house with all of the music she loves
Firstly, if you haven’t been paying attention to what your mum’s favourite songs or artists are, or you’re just wanting a no-fuss playlist then ‘Music for Mum‘ on Spotify is going to save the day. Hope 103.2’s music director has thoughtfully hand-picked a variety of tracks — new and nostalgic — mum can sing out loud around the home.
If you’re mum loves Michael Buble and/or Blake Shelton then this one is for her!
For the Lauren Daigle mum fans…
Does your mum love musicals? There’s The Greatest Showman soundtrack…
…or Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new and interactive (within your own home) #ComposerInIsolation series — mum can skip through to her favourite song.
So many mums love Adele and who could forget ‘Hello’ (even if you wanted to) featuring on ’25’, the world’s best-selling album of 2015.
Did your mum go to the Pentatonix concert in February this year? Then, this is the playlist for her…
For KING & COUNTRY aired a special lounge room lockdown concert in March that is still available.
Of course, there are many more artists that could help you make Mum’s Day special.
Whatever your plans for Sunday — gifts, cards, music and food — remember, make sure you tell the mum in your life that you love and appreciate her ?
