Theology Event: SMBC Hot Topics (Talk 7) – Croydon

Money Matters with David Sietsma: Money matters – if you have it or you don’t, what you do with it, and how you feel about it. It can divide us from each other and from God. David has helped manage money for banks with billions and for students with hundreds. He will help us think through what the Bible says, and how Christians can avoid unnecessary debt, save wisely, and give generously as we navigate a money-obsessed world.

(SMBC Hot Topics is a series of 10 talks held on Wednesday evenings. They are ideal for those who want their hearts and minds challenged biblically.)

Theology Event: SMBC Hot Topics (Talk 9) – Croydon

Religious Freedom in Australia with Neil Foster: Freedom of believers to live out our commitment and faith is being threatened in Australian society. The rise of ‘identity politics’ and a lack of ‘viewpoint diversity’ bring challenges to Christians speaking about faith. Neil is Associate Professor in Newcastle University’s Law School. He will outline both biblical and legal frameworks for religious freedom: what Australian law says, the Ruddock Review, and how Christians might usefully understand this.
