Church Event: EdComm Conference 2019 – Education for Formation – Rosehill

Interacting with literature, film, and postmodern trendsetters, as well as conversing with the disciplines of philosophy, theology, and sociology, Professor Steven Garber, Regent College, has suggested that young people can form a coherent and unified Christian worldview in the midst of an education that is often experienced as more fragmenting and disintegrating than unifying and integrating.

At this year’s conference we look forward to being challenged by Professor Garber as he encourages us to consider how students must learn to connect belief with behaviour in a way that does not separate the private from the public, or truth claims from life as it is actually lived.

Church Event: Spiritual Development for all Pupils – Middleton Grange

As Christian schools, we should surely be concerned for the spiritual development of ALL our pupils in our classrooms. But what does this mean given the increasing diversity of Western societies and the increasing numbers of young people who identify as non-religious or, indeed, are just apathetic about religion?

Even those pupils who come from Christian homes may hold a variety of positions themselves, or indeed be very confused about their own religious identity.

In this event, Professor Trevor Cooling will lead participants in an exploration through lecture and workshop of how the Gospel is best shared in this context. Please register online.
