Mums face unique needs, challenges and joys in this vital season of early mothering. At MOPS every mum is welcomed, accepted and encouraged to reach her potential and recognise her influence with her family and her world.
This happens child-free! While mums engage with the MOPS program, their babies and little kids enjoy on-site care and age-appropriate activities in MOPS Kids.
Endeavour Harmony Chorus Performance – Jannali
Endeavour Harmony Chorus an ensemble of 80+ women singing beautiful 4-part harmony in the a-cappella style. We are part of a the world-wide organisation, Sweet Adelines, and have competed locally and internationally within the organisation. EHC has the honour of being the highest scoring Australian chorus.
Before we head to Hobart for this year’s Regional Competition in May, come and see us perform our competition songs and other repertoire and also enjoy hearing our competing quartets.

Pre-service and New Graduate Teachers Event – Sydney
This free seminar will offer support to Christian Pre-service Education students as you prepare to finish study, apply for positions and consider how you will integrate your faith and work for the growth of the gospel, as well as New service Christian teachers in all systems.
Attendees will listen to and interact with a panel of K–12 teachers across the public and faith-based school systems, who will be sharing how their Christian faith impacts on their teaching practice. You’ll also be able to attend two sessions discussing a range of topics relevant to pre-service and new teachers like accreditation, preparing for interviews, and self-care to avoid burnout.

Exposed: The effect of pornography and sexualised media on students – North Parramatta
A broad body of international research describes numerous negative outcomes from an adolescent’s exposure to pornography.
Some of these effects include adapting attitudes of sexual objectification, increased sexual aggression, increased positivity towards uncommitted sexual exploration, negative gender attitudes, compulsivity and addictive behaviours, reduced self-esteem and increased sexualised behaviours on social media. All of these add up to a worrying trend among our young people.
In this Agora, Rev. Marshall Ballantine-Jones will explore some of the current research being undertaken and look at ways that our schools can begin to address this issue. Please register online.

In May and June, Eastwood Uniting Church Musical Society is presenting Oklahoma! This rip-roaring musical has just celebrated the 75th anniversary of its wildly successful Broadway premiere.
The first collaboration of Rodgers and Hammerstein (The Sound of Music, South Pacific), Oklahoma! kicked off the golden age of American musical theatre. It tells the story of two sets of lovers against the backdrop of American farm life in the early 20th century. Oklahoma! features such unforgettable songs as “Oh What A Beautiful Morning”, “People Will Say We’re In Love”, and, of course, the title song.

A very short course in Christian ethics – Newtown
Our tagline at the Centre for Christian Living is “bringing biblical ethics to everyday issues”. We’ve done by that by addressing a very wide range of “everyday issues” over the years.
But now we’d like to do explicitly something we’ve been doing implicitly: teaching you how to bring biblical ethics to every issue, whatever it might be. We’ll be teaching a simple framework for bringing the Bible’s view of reality to how we should live in the midst of reality day by day. We want to teach you, in other words, how to do “Christian ethics”.
