Wheel n Weft Christmas Art & Craft Exhibition & Sale – Thornleigh
Friday to Sunday! The Hornsby based art and craft group, Wheel ‘n’ Weft, has been operating for 43 years and raises money for charity. This year it is proudly supporting “Hornsby Connect Inc” – “A hand up for people in need” – a wonderful local community organisation that provides low-cost food for those experiencing financial hardship.
The Wheel ‘n’ Weft members have a passion for creating unique and beautiful handmade arts and crafts including ceramics, glass, jewellery, paintings, weaving, needlework, cards, bags, toys, woodwork, honey, sweets and preserves.
Wheel ‘n’ Weft’s Christmas-themed exhibition will provide the perfect opportunity to purchase lovely handcrafted gifts, cards and gourmet foods. Entry is $5.
Roughtober/Sleep Rough – Darlinghurst
People who want to do something for people experiencing issues of homelessness will be sleeping rough for just one night! This will help raise money for the work of Rough Edges.
You can help make lives of people who are doing it tough just a little bit better.

Movie Night Fundraiser “Promised” – Cronulla
Come along to this fundraiser night to watch the movie “Promised”. Set in Melbourne in 1953, the movie tells the story of 5-year-old Robert and newborn Angela who are promised in marriage by their fathers, Sal and Joe. Sal is insistent that he must uphold his promise to Joe, a connected man.
In June 2020, Catriona Hull is embarking on a 5-day adventure hike on the Larapinta Trail from Alice Springs to raise vital funds for Women’s Justice Network to provide mentoring programs to women affected by the criminal justice system.

Mini Spring Fair – Richmond
Our Spring Fair will have stalls, displays, plants, cakes, Devonshire Teas, a BBQ, plus original paintings for sale and a Q&A with acclaimed artist, John Shields.

Entertainment will include String Quartet performances by Macquarie Towns Orchestra. The church will be open for you to relax, reflect and enjoy the restored windows.

FUSE car show is a free community event held by Miranda Congregational Church. Come along and enjoy the cars both old and new.

1 in Christ presents “Unite Our Voices for Mental Health”.
This spiritual concert is for mental health awareness with Christian performers featuring no. 1 ARIA Singles Chart Artist, Cosima De Vito. Momentum, Psalm 34, St Rita Youth Choir, and St Mark Choir will also be performing. Special guest speaker is a Christian Psychologist, Dr Wanda Skowronska.

David Gray, International keyboard musician plays Wurlitzer – Campsie
Young Scottish musician David Gray, plays the iconic Wurlitzer Theatre Organ formerly in the Capitol Theatre Sydney. Three manual keyboard and 17 ranks of pipes plus many percussion instruments.
This is David’s last Australasian Tour and is a rare opportunity to hear David, master of the Wurlitzer. David plays a wide repertoire ranging from classics to stage and screen, jazz and swing numbers ensuring something for everyone.

Public Forum – Is “Great” Good enough? – Parramatta
The Centre for Faith and Public Issues within Parramatta Mission will be holding a day-long symposium on “Is Great ‘Good’ Enough?”
This theme arises out of significant disciplinary and theological work done on what constitutes a ‘good’ city; it is also mindful of how Parramatta City is aspiring to become Australia’s next ‘great’ city. How do these two – the good and the great – exist alongside and in tandem with one another ?
There will be 5 keynote addresses and 3 panel discussions Lunch will be hosted by Meals Plus. The evening meal will take place around Professor Andy Mark’s keynote address at Western Sydney University.

Church Event: Persecution Conference – “I am N” – Glenwood
This year, for the first time, Voice of the Martyrs Australia will be hosting a conference for the persecuted with the theme “I am N”.
Join us as we hear insights from the VOM Australia team as well as special guest speakers from around the world. Speakers from restricted nations will share their first-hand experiences of persecution while also covering a range of topics from the I am N curriculum such as courage, joy and sacrifice.
We continue to stand with them and make the commitment: “I will not let them suffer in silence, I will not let them serve alone.”

A one-day presentation by Professor Tony Attwood and Dr Michelle Garnett on relationships affected by Asperger’s Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
The presentation will cover all aspects of the relationship including differences in perspective, communication issues, challenges, managing stress, how partners can best support each other, household functioning, factors supporting relationship success, parenting, affection, intimacy, love languages, etc.
