One last interview with Leigh Hatcher

Before Leigh Hatcher left the building for his last time as host of Open House last year, I decided to corner the guy (…he did happily oblige) and find out a little more about the transition, and the amazing career he’s had up to now.

One last interview with Leigh Hatcher

Having been capitvated early by the media world at 19 years of age, Leigh has worked in the industry for over 40 years now, behind the scenes, in front of the camera, and nestled into the pages of many a manuscript.

His roles have seen him work in both radio and TV, for some of the major players including Channel 7 and SkyNews, leading him to become a spokesperson of sorts for Christians working in secular industry’s.

In amongst the career success though is a well publisiced battle with chronic fatigue which Leigh spoke candidly about in his book ‘I’m Not Crazy, I’m Just a Little Unwell’. It seemingly derailed his prospects for a number of years, and has been a defining faze of both his work life and faith journey.

I caught up with Leigh just after his final show for an extended chat, covering everything from his advice to young Christian’s, to why he think’s we’re wired to watch bad news, and what his biggest professional mistake has been.
